Takahashi Keizan studied Tozan-ryū shakuhachi under Sakata Seizan while a student at Tokyo Denki University. Winner of the Japan Shakuhachi Federation National Honkyoku Competition in the solo and ensemble divisions, he has appeared on NHK's Japanese music programs as an accompanist for Tozan-style honkyoku and shigin (traditional Japanese recitation). Formed a 4-piece band "Gensei Take-Kagi" and is currently performing live. He is a Grand Master of the Japan Shakuhachi Federation. Besides being a shakuhachi player, he is also an active engineer. Joined the group Aura-J in June 2013.
