Tsunoda Rogetsu II (Tsunoda Takayuki) had a career in shakuhachi spanning six decades. Born April 21, 1908 in Kumamoto Prefecture, he studied under Tsunoda Rogetsu I, Kobayashi Jido Shizan, Tominomori Kyozan, and others. He began teaching in Hawaii in 1932, eventually moving back to Kumamoto City. He was the second Rogetsu, and the head of the Meian Taizan-ha Shinpō-ryū.
