Born May 1, 1901 in Hokkaido, Emori Reihō (Emori Hiroshi) studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Fujisawa Reishō (Aoki Reibo lineage). He started teaching in 1937. He belonged to the Reibo-kai and was active in the shakuhachi world for over 40 years.
