Kondō Itsujū (Kondō Kazumi) was born January 25, 1917 in Hiroshima Prefecture. He studied Itsudō-ha Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Kubosumi Itsushin and Ikeda Mutsuhiko. He started teaching in 1968. He was a member of the Shakuhachi Itsuren-kai.
