Born in 1957 as the eldest son of Hagioka Shoin III. He studied under Kinichi Nakanoshima and Keiko Nakanoshima in 1970. In 1981, he entered the Tokyo University of the Arts. Graduated in 1991. Professor, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. In 2000 and 2002, he won the Excellence Prize at the Agency for Cultural Affairs Art Festival. In 2005, he received the 55th Art Encouragement Prize from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. In 2007, he was awarded the Excellence Prize at the 29th Pola Prize for Traditional Culture.
