Koto
An accomplished master of the koto. She holds a master teaching degree from the Miyagi Ryu and co-founded the famous Koto Trio in Japan. Born in Okayama City. Under the guidance of her mother Sumie Sunazaki, she graduated from the Japanese Music Department of Tokyo University of the Arts and completed the same graduate school. She studied under Kiyoko Miyagi, Mikiko Kobashi, and Yasue Ueki. She has been a part-time lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts, a visiting professor at Osaka College of Music, and a visiting professor at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music. Recitals have been held more than 40 times since the first in 1974, won the Cultural Agency Art Festival Excellence Award for the 17th recital in 1987, and was held at the Osaka Dawn Center in 1999. Received the Osaka Cultural Festival Award for the recital, held a recital to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the opening of the museum in 2006 at the National Small Theater, and received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award for the 2011 recital Concert Evening.
