I am a student of all things Japanese, particularly the aesthetics and arts. I was a former professional musician (western flute) and am an artist, haiku poet, and Denshosha (memory keeper). I have wanted to play the shakuhachi for many years and even when I visited Japan, couldn’t find one, nor did anyone I talked to know what one was. Glad I came across this website and am looking forward to learning more about the shakuhachi.
