Morita Shūzan (Morita Shinji) was born April 28, 1925 in Tottori Prefecture. He studied under Ma Shūhō. He started teaching in 1955. He was an Ueda-ryū Dai-shihan, Chairman of the Ueda-ryū Nara Prefectural Executive Committee and Futaba Committee, as well as Ōsaka executive director. 40+ years as a teacher and performer.
