Born June 5th, 1913. Born in Gifu Prefecture, Imao Itsuha (Imao Kaneo) studied Kinko-ryū Itsudō-ha shakuhachi under Fujii Reihō and Kawamoto Itsudō I. He started teaching in 1932. Over the course of his more than 40 year career he presided over the Sankyoku Shiha-kai and was a member of Itsuon-kai as well as an advisor to the second head of the Kinko-ryū Itsudō-ha.
