Born November 21, 1926 in Kyoto Prefecture, Fujiwara Ōdō (Fujiwara Yukio) studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Kaneyasu Tōdō. He began teaching in 1950. He was a member of the Nihon Chiku-dō Gakkan and presided over the Ō-ryū-kai.
