Nomura Rendō / Nomura Chōun (Nomura Shōichi) was born January 17, 1925 in Gunma Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Serizawa Shōdō and Goun-ryū shakuhachi under Itō Goun. He was a member of Gunma Sankyoku Association and the Goun-kai. He was a member of Goun Kaikan Hayashi Branch.
