Shakuhachi
Ikeya Fuzan (Ikeya Reiichi) was born May 25, 1914. He studied Tozan-ryū shakuhachi under Takenaka Kazan and Wakayama Yōzan (a student of Kurakawa Shōzan), becoming an instructor in 1948, and eventually achieving the rank of Dai-Shihan and the title Chikurin-ken. He served two terms as chief of the Shizuoka Prefecture branch of the Tozan-ryū, and was appointed as a member of the Tozan examination committee twice. He was the Shizuoka Prefecture Sankyoku Federation president, and received the Cultural Merit Award from the Prefectural Board of Education.
