Aoyagi Kindō (Aoyagi Shigeo) was born March 20, 1932 in Osaka Prefecture. He studied Ueda-ryū shakuhachi with Matsutani Kanzan, Katayama Getsudō, and Ueda Chikudō. He started teaching in 1953 and belonged to the Chikusō-kai.
