Jacqueline (Jackie) Frain is a certified jiuta shamisen performer located in Louisville, KY, USA. She has studied under senior master musician Yoko Hiraoka since 2012 and received her kaiden menjyo from Soumei Ongaku-kai (創明音楽會) in 2020. She has played at various venues around the US, from private parties to Japanese festivals and anime conventions. In addition to musical performances, she also gives lectures on topics in traditional Japanese culture including shamisen, kimono, and tea ceremony. In 2016, she had the honor of being featured on the Japanese TV show, 世界！ニッポン行きたい人応援団 (Who Wants to Come to Japan?), for her love and dedication to the practice of shamisen.
