| Duo No. 2 for Shakuhachi and Shamisen was written to bring a fresh sound to traditional instruments. Structurally the piece falls into a fast-slow-fast pattern with the fast sections being very similar. Many times one of the instruments falls into a kind of vamp pattern so the other can solo.
